How Well Do You Know Your Clients?

Know Your Clients

For a lasting relationship between you and your clients, you need to know them, their requirements and their service requests inside-out. Surprisingly, a lot of business owners do not know their clients very well and this proves to be a huge deterrent. If you are a new business owner or even a veteran you feel you need to know your clients better, prepare a questionnaire for them. Here are some questions to include:

  1. What is your expectation from us?

This is perhaps the most important thing to know about your client. Every client comes to a business to look for a specific product, service or advice. You need to know your client’s needs inside out. Unless you know what they want, you cannot customise the services and offer them exactly what they came looking for. If you feel unsure about what your clients want from you, speak to them at length and get every doubt cleared.

  2. Are you happy with the strategies we follow?

If you wish to retain your clients, you have to give them the best solutions. For this, you need to have the best strategies in place, which your clients should approve of. Ask your clients whether or not these strategies work for them. If a large number of your clients seem to disapprove of one or multiple of your strategies, it would do you a world of good to assess these strategies. You need to have happy clients to have a successful business, so take their opinion into account.

  3. Are you satisfied with the products/ services we offer? How can we improve?

Ask your clients how happy they are with the existing services and products. If you feel the feedback you receive is unfavourable, work on your products and services and improve them.

Ways to form lasting relationships with your clients

Your customers are not just people who bring in profits, they are integral parts of your professional family who help you to grow and expand as a business. Therefore, you need to take some simple, yet effective measures to know them and show them you value them. Here are some ways in which this can be done:

  1. Organise events and parties

Make your clients feel at home by organising enjoyable parties and meet-ups. This can be a bigger success if you are a small business owner, but it can work for large businesses too, provided the event is executed well.

  2. Send customised gifts

Send gifts to your clients on holidays like Diwali and Christmas. Wish them on their birthdays. These small measures would show your clients that you care and thereby help form lasting relationships.

  3. Offer loyalty programs

Offer loyalty programs through which your clients can get rewards and benefits. This will make them use your services and products over those of your rivals.

Conclusion

Make an effort to know your clients and you will see your business grow in new dimensions. As you can clearly see from the points mentioned above, it is not difficult to form a lasting relationship with your clients, so go for it!
